What Is Popped Sorghum?
Popped sorghum is whole-grain sorghum that's been heat-popped like popcorn. The kernels are about a quarter of the size of popcorn, pop into small, round, hull-free pieces, and are naturally gluten-free, whole grain, and non-GMO. The result: a lighter, smoother crunch with nothing stuck in your teeth.
How does sorghum pop?
Same physics as popcorn: each sorghum kernel holds a tiny amount of moisture inside a hard outer shell. Heat it up and the moisture turns to steam, pressure builds, and the kernel explodes inside-out into a fluffy white pop.
The difference is size. Sorghum kernels are tiny — so the pops come out small, round, and bite-sized. That's why we call them Mini Pops.
Why no hulls matters
Popcorn's biggest flaw is the hull — the hard shell fragment that wedges itself between your teeth and hangs out there for the rest of the day. Sorghum's outer layer is so thin it basically vanishes when popped.
No hulls. No teeth mess. No floss emergency after the bag's done. That's the whole reason SORGO exists.
Is popped sorghum healthy?
Popped sorghum is a whole grain, naturally gluten-free, plant-based, and non-GMO. It's air-light, so a big handful goes a long way. But let's be honest about why you'll keep eating it: it crunches loud and tastes great.
